About the Chapter
The Greater New York Chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Association consists of over 1,700 alumni and friends of the University in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The goal of the chapter is to support the University and strengthen the connection between the University and its alumni, students, and friends in the Greater New York area.

Chapter Recognized as Scholarship Leader
Once again, the Greater New York Chapter was recognized for its members' dedication to supporting the University and its students by contributing to the Alumni Association's Scholarship program.

An Elephant Never Forgets, So Please Pay Your Dues
You dues support chapter events like the fall football game watches, the holiday party, and the chapter's scholarship program. Last year, 10% of dues paid went to the Ned McDavid Endowed Scholarship. We expect to increase that percentage this year. Paying your dues online is secure and easy, just click on the appropriate link and follow the directions: $25 for individuals or $40 for couples. If you would rather pay your dues the old fashioned way, just send a check made out to the GNY Alumni Association to Christopher Hollinger, 320 West 84th Street, Apt 6D, New York, NY 10024.

Chapter Goals
The Greater New York Chapter exists to support the University and strengthen the relationship between alumni, students and friends in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut area and the Capstone.

Scholarship Support
A primary goal of the chapter is to support students at the University and give the University the ability to recruit top students. The Greater New York Chapter supports 6 tuition scholarships:
The Bear Bryant/Greater NY Chapter Endowed Scholarship for a freshman student entering from the states of New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut.
The Richard A Burch Endowed Scholarship gives priority to high school students from NY/NJ/CT with a 3.0 or better GPA.
The Ned McDavid Endowed Scholarship for students entering the College of Communications
The Madiline Keaton Cuniif Endowed Aviation Scholarship for students pursuing degrees related to aviation or space exploration.
The Diane J. Bostick Endowed Scholarship for students pursuing a degree in one of the Human Environmental Science fields.
The Sanford J. Leeds Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Arthur & Barbara C. Simon Endowed Scholarship

To support the chapter's scholarship efforts please send a check payable to the University of Alabama to Paula Jeter, National Alumni Association, P. O. Box 861928 Tuscaloosa, AL 35486-0017. Be sure to note to which scholarship you are contributing. Your scholarship contributions are tax deductible.

Also, your contribution to the National Alumni Association is matched by the collegiate license plate program, so every dollar you contribute means almost two dollars to the scholarship you designate.
